We attended a brilliant mini-model United Nations Conference at Bryanston School this month. Six of our Upper School pupils were split into delegations of two, representing France on issues ranging from climate change, nuclear proliferation and freedom of speech. To reflect their efforts in their various committees, Eliza and Juno were commended for their efforts exploring press freedom, while John, William, Clemmie and Elsie were all highly commended in their committees for finding consensus on nuclear disarmament and climate change.
To cap off a wonderfully exciting day, the whole group was awarded best overall delegation in the UN General Assembly, which required delegates to think on their feet and respond to a potential asteroid strike in Europe. Special thanks to Mr Capozzoli for leading the trip and to everyone at Bryanston for a fantastic experience; our pupils not only represented the school brilliantly but left with a better understanding of global issues and how the UN works.
