Charity Skydive

1st November, 2025

It was no ordinary end to half term for brave band of seven Port Regis parents; inspired by their recent trip to Arnhem, they jumped out of a plane to raise money for Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, the most incredible charity which is run by volunteer London black taxi drivers and has been supporting thousands of veterans since 1948.

On a crisp, clear morning with blue skies stretching for miles, seven fearless A Form parents took on their tandem skydive at Skydive Netheravon - Home of the Army Parachute Association. Our parents were expertly looked after by the brilliant crew, who made sure everyone was fully briefed, harnessed up, and ready to take the leap from a breath-taking 13,500 feet. The parents went up in two groups, which meant plenty of cheering (and a few nervous smiles) as each jumper touched down safely on solid ground. By the end of the day, all seven had completed the jump, and there were definitely two camps emerging: those already planning their next skydive, and those who vowed, "never again!".

So far, the skydivers have raised an incredible £5,500 and donations are still coming in. The timing couldn't have been better - with Remembrance weekend, the Taxi Charity is at its busiest, with black cabs across London volunteering to ferry veterans to events and ceremonies throughout the city.

It's not to late to donate, every pound helps make a difference for those who've served. A huge congratulations to our high-flying parents, who have truly gone above and beyond - and a big thank you to Adrian M, who helped set the skydive up and was there to support everyone on the day!
