Big news! We are delighted to reveal that Port Regis is this year’s winner of the TE ‘Innovation in Education’ Award for Community Engagement, in recognition of the inspiring links senior pupils have forged with veterans from the Second World War and their families.
Editorial Director of Talk Education, Teddy Wolstenholme, said: “It was no easy task choosing our winners, and we wanted to give space and a platform to schools who are really forging ahead with innovative ideas and initiatives. We really enjoyed hearing all about your brilliant World War II veterans initiative, and your efforts to bring history alive while honouring those who sacrificed so much. It is certainly one of the more unique community projects we have come across, and we are thrilled to be able to help you celebrate it.” This news is even more special as we embark on our third trip to Arnhem in Holland next week – look out for some very moving stories to follow.
