Our Summer Serenade, ‘A Night at the Movies’, showcased the wonderful musical talents of our Port Regians.
From choirs and orchestras to brass, strings, flute, guitar and jazz, pupils across the school came together for an evening of music in FMS in the final week of the school year.
The varied programme of pieces on the popular movies theme illustrated the breadth of music opportunities, not least through the sheer variety of groups and choirs - Brass Group, Training Orchestra, Senior Boys' and Girls' Choirs, Flute Group, Guitar Group, Jazz Band, Chamber Choir, String Group and School Orchestra. Toe tapping pieces included the Theme From Apollo 13, Over the Rainbow, Memory and The Great Escape. A fitting close was the Combined Orchestra and Choirs joining for a memorable performance of A Million Dreams.
What a super evening, well done to all our young musicians, and thank you to our brilliant Music Department for such a special event celebrating music making for all ages at Port Regis.
