Pastoral Care

Food & Health

The Catering Manager, who liaises closely with the Head of Boarding and the Headmaster's Wife, is responsible for an exceptionally high standard of cuisine, with the balance of the children's diet an important factor. Healthy eating is strongly encouraged, and vegetarian dishes and fresh salads are always available. We always seek to meet individual dietary requirements. The Head of Boarding and all members of staff keep a close eye on children's table manners.

There is a separate sanatorium within the main building staffed by a Senior School Nurse, three Resident Nurses and a San Matron. The School Doctor, who belongs to a large partnership in Shaftesbury, visits twice a week and at other times when requested. There is a hospital one mile away. Regular check-ups are given and all health requirements for those resident overseas are met.
