Port Regis was delighted to play host to the National IAPS Gymnastics Championships last weekend (12 & 13 November). There were 140 competitors from thirteen schools including the British school of Netherlands and Brussels....

What a fabulous evening we all enjoyed on Friday with the first ever Port Regis fireworks display. A team of busy organisers from the Friends of Port Regis, led by Suzannah Denness, worked tirelessly in preparation, and on the day dodged showers and inclement weather to set up the hog roast and other stalls to add to the evening's appeal....

Classics Trip to Fishbourne - 8 November
On Monday 7th November four classics sets visited the Roman Palace at Fishbourne; Beta and B Red, who are about to meet the probable resident of the palace, King Togidubnus, in the stories of Book 2 of the Cambridge Latin Course; A Blue, who are studying Roman Britain as part of the Common Entrance Latin syllabus; and B Purple, who were particularly interested in looking at the magnificent mosaics, a topic in their course on "The Romans as Builders"....

Old Port Regian Drinks - London - 4 November
Over 150 Old Port Regians gathered at the Lansdowne Club in London last night for the first of what we hope to be an London annual event. Former pupils from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and early 00s enjoyed a pink champagne and canapés reception during which old and sometimes forgotten friendships were renewed and new ones forged....

This motion allowed the B Forms plenty of breadth in their first debate and we heard a fine range of powerful arguments on both sides. Our eight speakers were thoroughly prepared and impressively confident, delivering their points fluently and with admirable clarity, and largely succeeding in holding their audience with their eyes....

Following what might perhaps be described as an unremarkable party conference season, in which a school student won as much praise as the nation's senior politicians, the Port Regis debate on Friday 7th October was a model of professionalism, showing that there is certainly hope for the future!

Port Regis Swing Band took part in Clayesmore's Picnic in the Park on Friday 6th May.
The Swing Band's performances of 'Tequila' and 'Superstition' was met with huge applause and the Band joined over a hundred other prep school children for a grand finale of the theme from 'The Pink Panther' and an arrangement of the James Bond film, featuring our own Adam (Alto Saxophone) as one of the soloists....
