Mrs M Willson, Cert Ed University of London
Maureen Willson qualified in 1959. Her early teaching career was spent in Primary Schools in Inner London and the Home Counties. Following a 10-year career break to bring up her 6 children who all attended Independent Schools, she herself moved to the Independent Sector and was appointed to her first Headship in 1983 (King’s House, Taunton). From 1987-1999, she was Head of King’s Hall, Taunton, a co-ed boarding and day Prep School. On retirement, she was asked to take over Knighton House, a boarding and day Prep School for girls in Dorset where she stayed until 2001. Mrs Willson is Junior Warden (i.e. Deputy-Chairman) of the Governing Body of King’s Bruton and Hazlegrove House. She is a Trustee of St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and Chairs their Fundraising Committee. She became a Governor of Port Regis in 2003 and is a member of the Education Committee.
