Resources

We are fortunate to have an excellent teaching environment with five dedicated Maths classrooms each equipped with an interactive whiteboard, projector and computer linked to the school network and the internet.

The three ICT rooms, and ICT facilities in Design, are used regularly to support Maths teaching and the senior ICT room in Cunningham, on the same floor as the Maths rooms, is especially convenient for whole classes, individuals and small groups.

A variety of resources and text books are used. The Pre-prep and Lower School mainly follow the Primary Strategy, the pre-prep using the Folens Maths scheme and the Lower School (Years 3 to 5) using the Elmwood Press 'Maths on Target' series, supplemented by in-house resources and practical work. In the Upper School in-house worksheets, which are constantly being added to or updated, are our core resource supplemented by texts such as the Essential Maths series and Galore Park's Maths Prep.

Software is constantly developing and the vast array of Maths websites are a valuable resource.

The department subscribes to the website www.mathletics.co.uk. This website is enormoiusly popular with the children, who love to compete on-line in their free time. It is also a valuable teaching resource and a fundamantal part of our remote learning provision. Children can access it at home using their own usernames and passwords and play, revise or explore the curriculum.
