    A Message from the Head

Ben Dunhill - Headmaster of Port Regis

Thank you for taking the time to find out about Port Regis. Despite being Headmaster since 2010, I am still struck every day by the outstanding range and depth of opportunities on offer to children here. There is no better way of appreciating these than to pay us a visit, and I hope that you will find enough on our website to encourage you to do so.

Port Regis is highly regarded for its academic, sporting and extra-curricular successes, and these are clearly important aspects of what we set out to do. However, none of these could be achieved without happy and well motivated children, and for me this is the most fundamental aspect of the education we provide.

We aim to equip our children not only with good grades and important academic skills, but also with qualities of character to see them through their lives beyond school. Our firmest desire is that Port Regis children should learn how to acquire a perspective on life, allowing them to feel at ease with themselves, their fellows, their teachers and their families. We focus in particular on five values: Hospitality, Perseverance, Reconciliation, Generosity and Respect. We put these values for life at the heart of everything we do.

As you browse around our website, you will understand that, while we have the highest expectations for our children in the classroom, on the stage, on the sports field and in all areas of extra-curricular life, we have equally high expectations for them elsewhere. We aim to produce children who are not only talented and high achieving, but who are generous of spirit, curious about the world and its inhabitants, alive to its possibilities and engaged with their role in it.

I hope that our website will give you a good idea of the aims, atmosphere and organisation of this wonderful school. Elizabeth and I would be delighted to welcome you here at any time.

    Benedict Dunhill

    Headmaster
