Much of the magic of Port Regis is to be found in the extra-curricular provision away from the academic classroom.
Our games department is renowned in the prep school world for the range of sports offered and the success of the school teams. The trophy cabinet is testament to the seriousness with which we take team sports. Our success is a result of wonderfully dedicated sports staff and stunning facilities including basketball courts, squash courts, swimming pool and the school’s crown jewels: a gymnasium with competition-standard apparatus and sunken trampoline.
The school also has an excellent reputation for the highest standards of music and a number of scholarships to top senior schools are awarded annually. The home of musical life Port Regis is the stunning Farrington Music School which is the ideal venue for an evening concert overlooking the shimmering, rippled lake at sunset.
Our Centenary Hall is often packed out for performances of school plays, while during the summer months visiting theatre groups are invited to perform for pupils and parents in the school’s walled rose garden.
For a glimpse through the eyes of the inventors and entrepreneurs of the future look no further than the galleries of our Craft, Design and Technology department whose facilities and teaching expertise eclipse those of many senior schools.
There is more evidence of the pupils’ artistic ambitions and talents in the art and pottery departments where pupils are given the space and time to indulge their creativity using a range of materials sourced from far and wide. In the corner of the pottery studio we have our own kiln where pupils can watch their own pots and sculptures being fired.
As if that wasn’t enough to keep children busy we offer dozens more hobbies, clubs and activities after school including such pastimes as archery, beekeeping, computer coding, debating, jewellery making, rifle shooting and tapestry.
At Port Regis we believe a busy child is a happy child with every boy and girl encouraged to build on their own particular talents and to discover new ones.
